myPHPscripts Guestbook 2.1.1 and Login Session 2.2.3 have been released with new encoding algorithms. As you probably noticed, I have been making regular changes to them. This is in response to recent security bulletins regarding the security of flat file storage in my scripts. I hope these improvements will eliminate any question about the integrity of this storage medium, as it is very popular among novice web developers. I will caution, however, that flat file storage should not be used in high-security environments because it is not as secure as database storage. |
